not every writer in the world is sad.
i think there is a general misconception
that if you are a writer, then you are automatically
lonely and quiet and introverted and full of dark thoughts.
many people see me as a sad person
simply because i write.
not every writer is sad, just as not all sad people are writers.
i think it’s best to clear this up.
writers are the people who can find beauty in anything and everything-
a frozen branch in winter, sleep patterns left in someone’s skin,
the sound of the ocean.
we often feel things deeper and harder than anyone else,
and then immediately want to write these feelings down
to keep them in a safe place within our hearts.
if you could open us up,
you would find a cage locked within our bodies
where every word we love is kept hidden.
yes, writers are often the tragic ones,
who kill themselves young
or drink themselves into oblivion every night.
but that is not because we are exceptionally sad-
no, it is because we feel every single goddamn thing.
This is fucking perfect, yes. Exactly.
